15 Essential Emergency Items to have for your PuppyBeing prepared for emergencies and disasters is so important, not only for us but also for our pets! In the unfortunate event that you need an emergency prep kit, I hope you will have all the necessary items for you and your puppy. I have compiled a general list for you so that if that time ever comes you are prepared to protect the safety and health of your Havanese puppies.
- Always keep a collar and ID tag on your puppy –this will help reconnect you
- Stored food and water for a week for each puppy
- Waste bags
- Pet first aid book and kit
- Harness and leash
- Pet carrier –they should have enough room to stand up, turn around, and lie down
- Pet carrier bedding
- Pet carrier ID tag
- Vaccination and medical records (medications if your puppy takes any)
- Towel
- Pet blanket
- Photos of your pet in a watertight bag
- Puppy toys
- Dog brush
- A 3×5 card in a watertight bag -with the following information: feeding schedule, medical history, name and # of your veterinarian
I recommend preparing these items now and storing them in a place in your home where you can access them quickly if necessary. These are just general guidelines to get you started in your emergency prep kit, you may want to add other items that you find necessary.
